Looking out of the window today, you wouldn't think we were coming into Spring. The rain is lashing against the glass and the heating's on. Just a few days ago, the sun was shining and a change was in the air; however, that's the unpredictability of the Scottish weather!
I've been buying daffodils and dotting them around the flat; that burst of yellow really brightens things up, no matter how miserable it is outside. I change the coffee table according to the seasons, so I've got a little vase of daffs here and a lovely candle from Marks & Spencer. There's an outlet store in town so last year's products have quite a significant reduction. I was drawn to the pretty ceramic pot, and the neroli, lime and basil blend smells really light and fresh, following a few months of heavier Christmas/winter scents.
The crochet square is from a free pattern by Deramores, which I'd first spotted on Pinterest. I really like the sample photo, with the colours popping out from a white background, but I have quite a large stash of Stylecraft Special DK and didn't want to order more, so I'm using Parchment, Duck Egg and Storm Blue, which I think work well together. I haven't decided how big it's going to be yet; it'll either be a throw for the sofa, or it'll go on the bed.
Right, there's a cup of tea waiting, so I'll squeeze some more crochet in before work.
Thanks for reading,
x
